The company is owned by the Ouzounian family. Its founder and president is Edouard, who trained in this craftsmanship by learning how to install diamonds and precious stones since he was 15 years old until he became a manager and then a general supervisor in a big jewellery factory for 14 years. In 1965, he established his first workshop in the old “jewelers market” in Beirut down town, consisting of 3 craftsmen.
In 1977, the workshop expanded and moved to an industrial zone where it became a small factory consisting of 15 craftsmen and executives. Since then, the works started to expand.
In 1988, the company constructed a building in the capital’s suburbs which it took as its final headquarters consisting today of more than 30 workers, handicraftsmen, technicians and executives, all that under the management and supervision of Edouard or the “master” himself. No piece, of any amount or size, is done unless after the approval of the master on same.
After 12 years of struggling and hard work, the majority of the jewelry pieces were expanding in most of the Gulf countries where they were met with high demand and appreciation from the eminent families and official personalities. Therefore, the family decided to head towards the West where it also met with success which it considered very acceptable. Hence, it opened a store in Limassol – Cyprus in 2007 and it became the owner of a humble series of 6 stores located in Beirut, Dubai, Doha and Bahrain. As regards to the distribution, it reached most parts of the world due to the assistance of his three sons: Tony, Richard and Cesar. The company expanded in the distribution of its jewelry, for example and not limitation in Moscow, New York, Minsk, Rio De Janeiro, Sao Paolo and Panama.
Edouard Ouzounian and his sons managed to create a world of their own, loved and appreciated by many. Hence, the family, with all its determination, credibility and expertise throughout the years, decided to establish the name OUZOUNIAN to become linked to the jewelry industry, so that the objective be a pure classical one:
